The project that fosters inclusion through sports is coming to two schools located in the Precotto and Pasteur neighborhoods.
The 2024 edition of "In Moto", the social project created by Repower Sanga Milano and supported by Dils, kicks off today. The partnership between the two entities is renewed for the 2024-2025 season, solidifying a shared commitment to well-being and inclusion.
"In Moto" is a physical education program aimed at primary schools that, by introducing children to basketball, seeks to overcome differences related to psychophysical abilities, language, or culture. Through sports, the project promotes values of inclusion, acceptance, and collaboration, teaching young children about sharing, mutual understanding, and accepting both their own and others' limits. To date, "In Moto" has involved over 6,000 students in more than 10 schools across Milan.
For the 2024-2025 school year, the initiative will focus on two specific schools: the Italo Calvino Comprehensive Institute in the Precotto neighborhood, and the Francesco Cappelli Comprehensive Institute in the Pasteur neighborhood. A total of 280 students from 13 classes will participate.
Activities at the Italo Calvino school will begin today, with two weekly sessions running through February. Afterwards, the Francesco Cappelli school will host bi-weekly sessions until the end of the school year.
Support for the "In Moto" initiative is part of a broader collaboration with Sanga, which is included in Dils' Give Back program, This is my Milano.
Sanga's "Orange" world has a long tradition of social initiatives related to sports, aimed at enhancing inclusivity and improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable, which have earned them important awards, including the Ambrogino d'Oro and the Rosa Camuna. "In Moto" is born from the belief that sports are a fundamental tool for children's psychophysical development and for strengthening the social fabric. Since its founding, Sanga has maintained affordable pricing policies to introduce girls and young women to basketball and the values of sport, thus promoting gender equality. In addition, since 2011, the sports group has complemented its women’s first team, which represents Milan at the highest level of Italian basketball, with the Sanga Baskin project. This initiative involves both men and women, players with and without disabilities, fostering genuine integration through sports.
