Yesterday, the conference “From Experience to Method: the Educational Path of Portofranco” was held at Palazzo della Regione in Milan, promoted by Portofranco Milano association, a study support center that has been active in the city for 25 years. A place that offers free daily academic assistance to middle and high school students and, above all, an environment where they can feel welcomed and valued.
During the event, a research study was presented that clearly illustrates the impact of the Portofranco model: an 85% pass rate, 12,000 hours of free support provided by more than 380 volunteers in the Milan office, and €327,000 saved by families in private tutoring costs. Every year, 1,400 young people from over 15 different nationalities take part in Portofranco’s activities, finding a space that brings out their abilities, motivations, and passions. It’s an approach inspired by Plutarch’s vision: “Young people are not vessels to be filled, but flames to be kindled,” a principle that has always guided the association’s educational mission.
Following this same direction is Dils’ contribution, as the company renews for the second year its support for Non solo studio, an initiative that combines afternoon tutoring, sports, and social activities. A programme designed to help students recognize their strengths and grow in an inclusive, stimulating environment. Support for Non solo studio is part of the Give Back programme, launched in 2023, which places young generations and their growth opportunities at the center.
